5 Habits to Adopt in The Morning to Boost Your Productivity

Productivity is a major subject. Overall, it can be improved in two ways: by using practical and well thought-out tools, and by applying tips to save time and be better organized. Other factors also come into play, such as experience and the equipment used. And boosting productivity starts in the morning! Here are 5 habits to take to start your day on the right foot.
Don't rush into work as soon as you wake up
First tip: don't throw yourself into work as soon as you wake up. No need to turn off your phone's airplane mode from your bed to check your business emails. Probably nothing disruptive happened overnight. If you go to work by public transport, you can take the time to look at the scenery, listen to some music, read a book or play games. Here again, there is no need to check your professional emails or carry out a sector watch from 7:30 am.
Take your time and avoid the car
Regardless of how you get to work, don't rush. If you are in a car, you risk an accident. If you are on foot, you might end up sweating. All this to save a few minutes at best, and increase stress before even starting the day at work. It is best to arrive at work relaxed to increase your productivity.
If you can, come to work on foot, by bike, or by public transport. You are quickly energized in the car, taking the bus or walking for a few tens of minutes allows you to think of something else and arrive relaxed at your workplace. Ideal to start the day well.
Eat a good breakfast to last the whole morning
Breakfast is the first meal of the day. This is also the most important! Help yourself to a tea or a good coffee (but don't overdo it), and something to keep the morning going: bread, croissants, a glass of orange juice… Think about it, a good breakfast is the assurance of having a good morning. If you can't stand to eat when you wake up, pack a little something so you can take a break to recharge your batteries - ideal for being productive in the late morning.
Check your To-do list at the right time
It is important to follow a todolist on a daily basis. In the elevator or while your PC is starting up, to save time, you can reread your to-do list. Most task management services provide powerful mobile applications; we think in particular of Todoist. You can also schedule the day's tasks to be emailed at any time you want. Prefer a few minutes before you actually start your work: a good way to remember your tasks in time, without being immersed in the job as soon as you get out of bed.
Create the To Do List of the day
In the morning, things are often clearer: take this opportunity to tidy up your to-do list. Prioritize projects and tasks to be done. And above all, create the todolist of the day. No need to bother with tasks to complete by December 31st. The important thing today is to complete the tasks at hand today. Watching an endless todolist is the best way to procrastinate. And if your workday lasts 8 hours, don't schedule more than 6 hours of tasks, because three things inexorably reduce the time allocated to tasks scheduled for the day:
- Coffee breaks, important to stay productive throughout the day,
- Tasks that take longer than expected; the time allocated is often underestimated,
- and the urgent tasks that will be allocated to you during the day.
