 What to do when you are sad? Indeed, we often feel helpless by sadness. It falls on us and we don't know what to do with it. That’s why I’m sharing with you 20 Things to Do When You’re Sad.


Today I'm going to answer this question: "What to do when you're sad? "

When sadness falls on us, we are most often helpless. In fact, we don't know what to do to get better.

So we rehash and feed our sadness more than anything else.

What to do when you are sad?

I suggest 20 things to test to find a soft smile.


1 - When you're sad: read a book

Reading is one of the best stress relievers in the world. In fact, it only takes 6 minutes of reading to reduce stress by 60%. Why ? Because as we read our breath becomes calmer, deeper, our thoughts calm and our attention is focused on one thing: the words in front of our eyes.

In fact, reading is a great distraction from our stressful thoughts, but also sadness.

Indeed, when we are sad, we tend to rehash our sad thoughts and we lock ourselves in a vicious circle.

In other words, when you are sad, take a book and read for a few minutes: 20 minutes. And, let your sadness fly away.


2 - Write in a Journal

Writing soothes, it alleviates the heart and mind of worries. Indeed, while we write what runs in our head, what weighs on our heart, we shed it.

In other words, when we are sad, take a piece of paper and a pencil or open our notebook and write for 15-20 minutes without stopping.


3 - Cooking

When we're sad, we don't know what to do with ourselves, so we wander the house or curl up on the couch. But, this is how sadness tightens its grip on us.

Cooking is a great idea, because while our hands are busy, our thoughts calm down and even fall silent. Thus, they stop dwelling on our sadness, feeding it.

In other words, after a while of cooking, our sadness flies away.

As in the case of the kitchen, here it is not our hands that are busy, but our feet. Walking calms our thoughts. Indeed, they let themselves be rocked to the rhythm of our steps.

7 - Gardening

Nothing better than going out in contact with nature when you are sad.

So, put on a comfortable outfit and go out into your garden. Touch nature, smell it, look at it.


8 - When you're sad: Try Something New

When we are sad, it is essential to distract ourselves from our thoughts full of sadness. And what could be better than trying something new? Indeed, it will totally grab our attention and calm our thoughts.

Plus, you'll feel good, even proud to have done something new. Sadness will thus have less hold on us.


9 - Call a Friend

Calling a friend, not to dwell on what makes us sad, but rather to give news, tell what is going and listen to their news as well.
